Hello, dear craft lovers! 🌸 Today, I’m excited to guide you through creating a stunning tissue paper carnation. This simple yet elegant flower is easy to make, long-lasting, and perfect for decorations or heartfelt handmade gifts. Let’s get started!

The full video is at the end of the article.

🌿 Materials Needed:

Tissue Paper (Soft and slightly glossy works best)
Floral Wire (To hold the flower together)

🌼 Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Tissue Paper

Prepare the Tissue Paper

Take two sheets of tissue paper. Do not separate them! Keeping them together will help create full and beautiful petals.

Step 2: Accordion Folding

Accordion Folding

Starting from one edge, fold the tissue paper accordion-style into 1 cm-wide pleats. Continue folding back and forth until you reach the end of the paper.

Step 3: Secure with Wire

Take a piece of floral wire and wrap it tightly around the center of your folded tissue paper. Twist the wire securely to keep everything in place. This will be the stem of your flower.

Step 4: Shape the Petals

Gently pull apart each layer of tissue paper, fluffing and adjusting it as you go. Use light and careful touches to create soft, curved petals.

Step 5: Adjust and Perfect

Once all layers are separated, adjust the petals to shape your carnation beautifully. Feel free to tweak and fluff them until you achieve a natural, blooming look!

🌸 Tips for a More Realistic Carnation:

Choose quality tissue paper – The finer the texture, the softer and more elegant your flower will look.
🎨 Add color! Lightly brush the edges of the petals with red, pink, or orange to give them a realistic floral effect.

Lightly brush the edges of the petals

💡 Enhance with finishing touches – For extra shine, mist the petals lightly with a pearlized spray or use silk fabric to blend the colors smoothly.
